My Story

Hi, I’m Steve Mclean, head trainer of Steve Mclean Functional Fitness in Mount Lawley.

I’ve been in the fitness industry for more than 25 years and I love what I do – helping people achieve their fitness, mobility, functional movement and recovery goals.

I consider myself a functional fitness guru and integrate East & West health systems to provide you with optimum results.

My experience includes;

  • Setting up corporate health programs for the University of WA
  • Lecturing for Cert 3 & 4 in Fitness
  • Golf Fitness Coaching with Como Senior High School and multiple individual clients.
  • Managing Waterside Health & Fitness at Burswood Resort for 5 years
  • Personal Training for 25+ years.
  • Extensive Yoga, Qui Gong and Meditation Training.
  • PLUS I’m an all round nice guy

Whatever health and fitness goals you want to achieve I can get help you get there! If I don’t know the answer myself then I have a huge amount of contact in the sporting and fitness industry and will be able to point you in the right direction.

Small group training sessions are the best way to help you reach your potential and attain the body you want.
You will also have a lot of fun doing so.

We do things differently at our group training sessions in Mt Lawley. There’s no long running…there’s no sit-ups or crunches…because we know they’ll cause you back problems.

But what we do provide are a different workout every time you come along using kettlebells, medicine balls, bodyweight exercises, jungle gyms, dumbbells and anything else I can find to give you a high-intensity, fat burning workout.
